A 28-year-old man has died while snowshoeing in Chamonix.
The Frenchman was walking near the Bossons glacier on a trail that’s mainly used in the summer.
A local police spokesman says it’s important to remember it is still winter in the mountains – even if the temperatures are quite mild on the lower ground.
The man’s body was found near the glacier.
