Lausanne police say they will be more vigorous in tracking down those who break traffic laws on electric scooters and bikes.
The police say they will focus especially on people using the machines on the sidewalk or in pedestrian only areas.
The number of accidents caused by e-scooters is on the rise. Over the last three years 10 people have been seriously injured and one person has died.
Using an e-scooter in a pedestrian area carries a CHF 40 fine.
