Two hikers have been fined for stealing four colourful steel flowers created by an artist in the Vaud Alps last summer.
The flowers were part of an outdoor exhibition by Nicolas Bamert in Les Mosses.
Unfortunately for the thieves, they were spotted and a passerby noted the car licence plate. They eventually returned them to the police.
The artist says each flower is worth around CHF 500. The installation is now on in northern France – and some have been taken from there as well.
