A hiker has died after falling 30 metres off a ridge on the Pointe du Midi in Valais on Tuesday afternoon.
The 57-year-old was with his partner when he decided to climb alone. She raised the alarm when he didn’t return.
Police launched a major search operation with patrols, helicopters and dogs. The man’s body was found the following morning.
An investigation is now underway.
