The Swiss Foreign Affairs Department is condemning the use of force against protestors in Iran.
Many Iranians have taken to the streets after a 22-year-old woman died in custody for not wearing a head covering properly.
In a statement, the government says ‘Switzerland is dismayed by the large number of fatalities during the protests’.
It’s urging the Iranian authorities to show restraint, guarantee freedom of expression and conduct a full and independent inquiry into the death.
Some politicians have been criticizing the government for its silence over the Iranian violence which has now been going on for almost three weeks.
