The world’s biggest Swiss flag is set to fly once again on the north face of Säntis in Eastern Switzerland for Swiss National Day.
The 80-by-80 metre flag, which weighs over 700 kilos, is due to be put in place on the side of the mountain on July 31st, according to the local cable car company. Crews plan to attach it in the morning - but only if the weather is right. Strong winds and stormy conditions have forced cancellations in the past.
The tradition has been part of August 1st celebrations for years.
When the weather is clear, the flag can be seen from across much of Eastern Switzerland.
