Geneva schools are struggling with the demands of those with special needs.
The education minister Anne Hiltpold says the issues which plagued the return to school this academic year must never happen again.
Many children with autism were unable to find a place and had to join regular classes.
The minister, who was appointed in April this year, says there’s been lack of planning for students with special needs over the last 10 years.
She’s put forward a three-year plan to accommodate those students. On average around 2,000 new children start school every year. Four years ago, 70 would have required separate classes. Now it’s 130.
