The population of Geneva continues to climb.
In 2018 the canton passed the important half a million-resident mark – but since then another 21,000 have moved in.
The population increase is slower than it was before covid – and very few moved to the canton during lockdowns.
But there are signs the population increase is accelerating again. The Cantonal Statistics Office says just over 5,000 moved in last year - up on the previous 5-year average of 4,000.
