The Geneva Grand Council has passed a tax cut which could be as much as over 11% for middle earners.
The cut will cost the canton CHF 326m and CHF 108m for the communes.
The cut was backed by right-wing parties, those on the left were more critical – denouncing the cut as being highly beneficial to the wealthiest.
Even so, the cut will be subject to a popular vote to be held later in the year.
