The director of the University Hospital in Geneva, Bertrand Levrat, has been given France’s highest honour, the Legion d’honneur.
The ceremony was held at the French embassy in Bern.
The award was for commitment to public health after the hospital treated more than 400 French nationals during the height of the Covid pandemic.
Levrat said the award was recognition of the work by all the staff at the hospital.
