The Swiss media company, Ringier, says it has ended its relationship with the former German chancellor, Gerhard Schröder.
The German politician is known to be a close personal friend of Vladimir Putin and also sits on the boards of the Russian owned NordStream pipeline and the oil company Rosneft.
He’s been a consultant for the Swiss media company since 2006.
Ringier says he’s left the company under mutual consent.
Schröder is being criticized for his close links with the Russian leader.
