An upcoming vote on banning the import of Fois Gras will not have much of an impact and will be against WTO rules.
That’s the conclusion of the Science Committee of the House.
This country consumes less than 1% of Fois Gras.
The parliamentary body says a better way forward will be a counter proposal which forces makers to declare ff it was made with force feeding or not.
The Upper House, the Council of States, has yet to give an opinion.
