Health authorities in Geneva say this winter’s flu epidemic is proving earlier and more severe than expected, with record pressure on hospitals.
Geneva University Hospitals report more than one hundred and forty flu-related admissions in the first week of the year alone, around 40% above a typical peak.
Most patients are over sixty-five. Doctors warn the peak may not yet have been reached, but say the vaccine remains effective against severe illness.
