First version of Covid certificate announced

Federal Office of Technology

How the new Covid certificate will work and what it will look like has been released by the Federal Office of technology.

It will be available as a mobile phone app or a hard PDF copy.

Both versions will have a QR code that will be able to be read by restaurant and bar managers and event organizers.

The certificate will be valid for 6 months after the second dose or recovered from Covid. It will work for 72 hours after a negative test.

The QR code issued by Switzerland will be compatible with a similar system being rolled out by the EU.

It will be operational by the end of the month.
