Work on the long-awaited tram running from Nations to Ferney Voltaire will start in September.
The new route will have 10 new stations – 7 in Switzerland and 3 in France – there’ll also be a Park and Ride car park in Ferney with 500 places and another at the airport with 700 spaces.
The work will mean road closures in Petit-Saconnex.
The Cantonal Minister for Transport, Pierre Maudet, says any appeals against the project have now been overcome.
It should open in 2028 and the trip from Ferney to Cornavin will take 24 minutes.
