Police in Sankt Gallen say they suspect a father killed his 12-year-old daughter and then himself.
The 54-year-old man and the girl were found dead in the family home.
The man’s wife and their oldest daughter, aged 14, were not at home at the time.
The exact circumstances are now being investigated, but the police say a weapon wasn’t used.
The mother and oldest daughter are receiving psychological help. Neighbours told the press the family seemed happy and had lived at the house for 10 years.
The Blick newspaper says the father worked at a local architecture firm.
