Fake police letter circulating

Kapo VS

Residents in Valais are getting an email that the police are warning is a fake.

It looks genuine enough. It has the Confederation letter head, together with the Europol logo and the European Cyber Crime Agency.

The letter – which comes as an attached PDF – says the recipient is guilty of distributing child porn and needs to contact the authorities. The letter is written in French.

Valais police say it should be ignored and deleted and warn against clicking in any of the links.
