New rules from tomorrow

From tomorrow, July 1st, there’ll be new rules covering e-bikes.

Fast e-bikes - those that need a licence plate - are now categorised as a moped.  If mopeds are banned on a route, then so are fast e-bikes – unless specifically exempted.

There’ll also be a new category, “heavy e-bikes,” which includes models with up to four wheels, weighing up to 450 kilos, and reaching speeds of 25 km/h.

There’ll also be a change to the driving test. Learners will be taught how to use drivers’ aids – such as lane control, automatic cruise control and know the limitations of such aids.

Also, in other rules that are changing: It’ll be easier for the authorities to destroy counterfeit goods. Health insurance will cover colon cancer screening for a wider age group and those with chronic conditions won’t need to justify their needs as often.
