A battery for an e-scooter is being blamed for a large apartment fire in Geneva yesterday morning.
It caught fire overnight and the flames spread quickly through the Grand-Saconnex flat.
No one was hurt. The occupants – four men – all managed to escape, one jumped from the window.
The fire service praised their actions as they closed the front door on leaving – preventing further spread.
Battery fires are very dangerous, said a fire service spokesman. They can’t easily be extinguished and produce a lot of smoke.
