An off-duty Geneva policeman has been arrested after he was found to be harassing passers-by while drunk and still in uniform.

He also pulled out his service weapon at one point.

The officer is being described as ‘young’.

He was detained by his colleagues on the Place des Augustins on Friday night.

A police spokesman says the force will not tolerate such behaviour and it doesn’t correspond to the values of the institution.

An investigation has been launched.
