Details are emerging of a potential disastrous plane crash over Geneva in November last year.

An Aegean Airlines flight from Athens was approaching the airport, but came perilously close to the surface of the lake near Versoix – it was only after urgent warnings from air traffic control and in the cockpit that the pilots started to climb quickly and had to go around for another approach.

Experts say the plane was 10 seconds away from disaster.

Investigations are underway and Aegean Airlines says it's fully cooperating.

There was a similar incident in 2023 involving an easyJet flight from Edinburgh.
