Swiss transport police are being handed tasers to tackle rising violence on trains and stations
The Federal Council announced on Wednesday that officers will be allowed to use electric-shock weapons when necessary, alongside tighter rules on body cameras and real-time video surveillance.
The government says increasingly serious incidents on public transport now require stronger tools to protect commuters and staff.
