Climate fund idea set to be rejected

It looks set voters will reject the climate fund which will be decided on March 8th.

The proposal is to invest a minimum of half a percent of GDP until the year 2020. That could be as much as CHF 8bn.

But the latest polls are showing less than 30% support. Swiss people’s Party voters are 93% against and Liberal supporters are 90% against.

Comparing the latest polls with previous survey shows support is actually falling.

While it would be expected that city dwellers and graduates would be more supportive - they are, but still 60% will vote against.

Commentators say it looks certain to be rejected.
