8,000 Ukrainian refugees are now registered in Switzerland – and they’re continuing to arrive at the rate of around 1,000 a day.
Those seeking shelter can register either directly at a federal centre or online.
Arrivals don’t have to announce themselves immediately, Ukrainian nationals are free to enter the country and stay for 90 days anyway.
In addition to those being put up by people offering space in their homes – the government has space for around 9,000 at the moment and more beds will become available.
