Zurich nudists fight back

Nudists in Zurich are fighting back to keep an area open especially for them.

Zurich’s Werdinsel nudist beach is back in the spotlight.

After reports of harassment against women and even public sex acts at the Werdinsel beach, a petition was launched in July calling for the nude area to be shut down.

But regular visitors are pushing back. They’ve handed city authorities a counter-petition with more than 1,000 signatures in support of keeping the naturist zone.

Organizer Marko Weiss says it’s unfair to punish the 99 percent of visitors who behave responsibly.

The nudist area remains open for the time being.
