Young children won't be vaxxed until 2022

Despite authorities giving the go ahead, children aged between 5 and 12 will not be vaccinated until next year due to organisational delays.

The regulator, Swissmedic, green-lit the jabs for kids last week.

Despite the suspicion schools are a major vector for the disease, paediatricians say a children’s vaccination programme should proceed cautiously with those who have a medical history or are immunosuppressed given priority.

The head of the Conference of Cantonal Directors of Public Education, Silvia Steiner, says the vaccinations for young children won’t be happening in schools. She says the final decision will be up to the parents
