Hotel prices are soaring in Zug this weekend as the Federal Yodelling Festival hits town.
It’s the first time the event has been held for 6 years. It’s normally every four years, but the planed event in Basel in 2020 was cancelled due to Covid.
150,000 are expected over the weekend – and many have booked a room already.
The head of Zug Tourism, Dominic Keller, told the press the rooms have been booked for the last several weeks.
But now its not just hotel rooms, school facilities have been converted into dormitories and campsites are fully booked.
Even Airbnb is out – the only option on the site in the region is a boat on the lake.
But Dominic from the tourist office points out public transport is excellent so you don’t need to stay the night.
