The Geneva public transport system is having a very bad week.
After two accidents on Wednesday, yesterday a tram derailed due to operational error.
The tram was travelling through Rive, when it hit a parked vehicle which was too close to the tracks.
Windows were broken, but there were no injuries.
To try to move the tram out of the way, engineers reversed it along the line – but due to the points being set badly, it then derailed -making a bad problem much worse.
The TPG had to run more bus links in rush hour. The service wasn’t back to normal until noon.
