Geneva firefighters arrived in force to tackle a blaze in a waste dump in Lignon yesterday afternoon.
The large housing estate suffered a series of fires at the end of last year - but life has been quiet for the last 7 weeks.
Residents complain of large-scale garbage dumping. One told the Tribune de Geneve it can be so bad its difficult to walk to the building.
The pile of rubbish that was on fire contained discarded furniture, including a sofa and a bed frame.
Authorities will be hoping this fire isn’t the start of a trend seen in 2021.
