The company which manages music copyright in Switzerland – Suisa – is suing the social media company Twitter International for copyright infringement.
Suisa has filed a complaint in a Munich court – alleging the social media company is allowing music to be distributed on X without a licence.
Suisa is claiming that a significant number of works by companies and artists it represents are on X. It says it has made several different attempts to persuade X to enter into negotiations to conclude licensing agreements – but it has not responded.
Suisa is demanding Twitter International to publish its revenue figures and usage numbers in full.
