Woman freed by fire team after being stuck in shower

A woman in Winterthur had to be freed from getting her finger stuck in her shower drain.

A neighbour called the police after they heard cries for help from the apartment.

The flat was locked, so a locksmith had to break in. Police tried to free the woman by using soap, but that wasn’t sufficient, the fire brigade were called with heavier equipment.

It took a further two hours while the drain was sawn away to free the woman.

The 50-year-old was overjoyed to be liberated. The local police say they can’t remember a similar incident, but point out it's important for neighbours to call them if they feel something is not right.
