An elderly woman who left her dog in the car on a hot summer’s day has been fined CHF 4,700.
The 83-year-old was taking her husband to a hospital appointment in June last year when the temperature was 30 degrees.
A passerby managed to free the animal around 15 minutes later. The one-year-old dog was said to be panting heavily.
Prosecutors also added a suspended fine of a further CHF 16,000.
It’s thought the temperature in the car when the dog was rescued was as high as 56.
