Researchers studying sewage water for the coronavirus are warning a third wave could be building.
The studies are being carried out at sewage plants in Lausanne and Zurich. The scientists from the EPFL and the water research institute ETH, say they can plot the current rate of infections in almost real time.
They say the current results are showing a clear up-swing with the virus now at half the levels it was at the peak in November last year.
The researchers say they’re confident their analysis is faster than the testing figures.
