The committee in charge of the Escalade celebrations in Geneva is warning its members not to wear their costumes on the streets or hold any unplanned marches.
The 1602 Committee was forced to cancel this weekend’s traditional parade through the streets due to Covid restrictions. It’s the second time in a row the annual parade has not gone ahead.
But some members are clearly unhappy and using social media are suggesting they hold their own unofficial parade over the weekend.
The committee is warning that its rules are clear – the outfits cannot be worn outside unless part of an official event and anyone doing so faces being thrown out of the organisation.
