Vaud has unveiled a new plan to help teachers cope with disruptive and high-needs pupils, after rising complaints that classroom misconduct is undermining lessons.
Every state school will have a dedicated "resource space" by 2028, staffed by a specialist, where disruptive children can be sent under supervision, education minister Frédéric Borloz announced this week.
Continuous training for teachers is planned, alongside clearer protocols for handling verbal and physical violence in class.
Teachers' unions have welcomed the plans but say they are waiting to see the measures take effect.
