Vaud financial support in question

Three-quarters of the Vaud companies that received state financial support in 2025 did not actually need it to carry out their projects, a damning audit by the cantonal Court of Audit has found

The grant scheme — mostly non-repayable — handed out CHF 24.3 million last year, through the economic promotion service run by cantonal minister Isabelle Moret.

Auditors say the system is piloted by the money going out rather than by any measurement of results.

The report lands just ten days after Vaud voters approved a 12% income-tax cut, raising fresh questions about how the canton is spending its public funds.
