Two local doctors in the Valais village of Loèche are leading the fight against Elon Musk's plan to build Europe's largest Starlink ground station there.
They’re warning that 40 satellite antennas would expose residents to little-studied levels of electromagnetic radiation.
They also raise security concerns, arguing that Switzerland could become a target because Starlink relays military communications, including drone traffic in Ukraine.
The municipality has issued a building permit, citing a SpaceX safety study, and the Federal Council says it sees no particular strategic vulnerability.
The two doctors have appealed to the canton and say they are ready to take the case all the way to the Federal Court.
