Inter-cantonal competition for businesses can be a cut throat operation.
Valais is doing particularly well. In the last three years the canton has persuaded 113 companies to move their HQs.
The main losers have been Vaud, Geneva and Zug.
The figures have been compiled by the analytic company, CRIF.
Analysts for Credit Suisse say the canton attracts SMEs as its tax rate for companies making a profit of around CHF 200,000 is appealing.
It’s also doing well for new companies – in the first quarter of this year, the figure is up over 15% compared to the same time last year.
