Val Thoiry Migros closed for re-brand

Bare shelves at Migros Val Thoiry (c) wrs

The Migros Hypermarket at the Val Thoiry shopping centre in neighbouring France is closed now until the 16th as it rebrands to a Super U – the major French chain.

All the Migros shops in France will undergo the same change during the month. But the stores in Etrembières and Neydens will close later this month for the change.

The new store planned for Divonne is still going ahead – but it will open as a Super U.

Cumulus cards are no longer valid – but the blue Migros vouchers will be accepted by the open stores, until they change.

Migros says its link with the French company is more of a partnership and not a take-over and Migros products will be available in the rebranded shops.

One big change, the new Super U shops will sell alcohol – which Migros hasn’t in the past.
