US/Iran deal won't be signed in Geneva

Burgenstock

Geneva won’t be the venue for the signing of the US-Iran peace deal.

It’ll now be held at the Bürgenstock luxury hotel on Lake Lucerne on Friday, marking the start of two months of negotiations to end the Middle East war.

The text is described as "very general" and runs about a page and a half, according to US Vice President J.D. Vance.

The American blockade of Iranian ports has already been lifted, with two Iranian supertankers crossing the zone carrying 3.8 million barrels of crude between them.

But tensions remain high. Iran's military has threatened a "severe response" if Israel does not stop strikes in southern Lebanon, where four people were killed on Tuesday.
