Despite the social media calls for riots to push back on continuing coronavirus social restrictions, the weekend was trouble free.
That didn’t stop hundreds of young people gathering in Basel along the banks of the Rhine. The ad-hoc partiers told the press they don’t need to create any trouble.
Music systems had been set up and everyone had a cold box of alcohol despite everyone knowing the gathering was illegal.
Although the police did tour the crowds, they took no action.
