With the lifting of Covid restrictions across the world – demand for summer vacations and short breaks is soaring.

Hotelplan, this country’s largest tour operator, says it’s seeing strong demand – especially since the Federal Council lifted the requirement to show a negative test on entering the country. A company spokesman says there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

Demand also shows many are going to splash out this year – preparing to spend more money on average on a trip than before.

Figures from Geneva airport also show more and more want to get away. A spokesman says traffic is going up week after week and expect that to continue.

Budget airline easyJet says it believes summer traffic will be close to pre-pandemic levels.
