Tourists are returning to Switzerland, with Geneva showing an exceptional growth, according to the Federal Statistics Office.
Overnight stays were up 20% last year compared to 2022.
The Geneva Tourist Office says the figures show the attractiveness of the city to international visitors.
The rise is not limited to leisure visitors – the number of people visiting Geneva for international congress meetings were up - 22 were held last year. Each one brings in around a million francs for the city.
The head of Genève Tourism, Adrien Genier, told the Tribune de Genève, the figures reflect the constant efforts to promote Geneva internationally – but more needs to be done to boost hotel occupancy.
