Next year’s Tour de France will pass very close to Geneva.
The 2023 route has been unveiled and one of the stages will leave from the neighbouring French town of Annemasse on July 15th.
Unfortunately, unlike this year, the Tour will not actually enter Switzerland.
This summer the race passed through Lausanne and Aigle – the first time the cyclists had visited this country for 22 years.
The three-week race covers 3,400 km and starts in the Basque Country and heads to the German border. It’s dominated by mountain stages, giving sprinters a disadvantage compared to this year.
The race will also pass close to Switzerland on the 22nd of July when it’ll start at Belfort – close to Basel.
