The Federal Court has upheld convictions against climate activists over a major protest in Zurich.
It ruled that a 2020 sit-in blocking the Quaibrücke bridge amounted to coercion, after demonstrators brought traffic and tram services to a standstill for several hours.
Judges found the disruption had significant consequences for road users and public transport, confirming fines issued to three activists.
The ruling contrasts with a previous case involving Extinction Rebellion in Fribourg, where activists were acquitted because access routes remained open.
In Zurich, however, the court said the blockade created a critical jam, justifying the convictions.
