Thurgau vaccine registrations full of foreigners

Vaccination workers in canton Thurgau are having to check their list of those who’ve registered to get vaccinated as thousands have signed up from abroad.

The canton has opened up registrations for all adults which has led to international interest.

The main problem is those living in Germany who are not entitled to the jab in Thurgau – unless they work in the canton. However, there have been people signing from further afield, including Poland and even the United States.

Cantonal government minister, Urs Martin, says the work to remove false registrations is taking hundreds of hours.

He also warns if anyone turns up to get a vaccine and they’re not entitled, that’s a criminal offence.
