TCS says more cash needed for charging stations

Is the government providing enough assistance to make sure electric car owners can easily charge their vehicles?

The motoring organisation, the TCS, says no – not by a long way.

The Federal Council has allocated CHF 30m a year for the next 6 years to fund charging stations – but the TCS says it needs to be three times as much.

Surveys show how to charge an EV is a central decision for potential buyers - especially those who rent their homes.

There are around 10,000 public charging stations in the country at the moment – and there are 110,000 purely electric cars on the roads.
