Geneva taxi drivers want permission to use more public transport lanes, including tram tracks.
The proposal is being studied by the canton.
The Geneva Federation of Official Taxis – which doesn’t include Uber – says it will mean quicker and therefore cheaper, journeys for passengers and it’ll be less polluting as they won’t get stuck in traffic jams.
The federation says opening up more lanes for taxis could cut travel time by 40%.
