Taxi drivers protest Uber - again

More than 150 Geneva taxi drivers protested yesterday in the middle of the city, claiming that Uber is operating illegally and should be banned.

The drivers met at the Place Neuve and marched to the Old Town.

They claim that Uber has been illegal since the Federal Court ruling last month that found the company does employ the drivers and needs to treat them as workers.

The taxi drivers say Uber is unfair competition.

They also say they have to be trained, know the streets of the city and don’t need to rely on GPS.
