Switzerland on fast track for 2038 Winter Games

Hopes Switzerland will host the 2030 Winter Olympics have been dashed.

Yesterday the Lausanne based International Olympic Committee signalled that Switzerland, along with Sweden, will not be successful.

Favoured hosts for 2030 will be France, and Salt Lake City in Utah is on the fast track for 2034.

But the IOC says that it is entering a ‘privileged dialogue’ with Switzerland for 2038.

Swiss organisers have until 2027 to finalize its bid.

The news is going down well. Swiss Olympic President, Jürg Stahl, says he believes the Swiss bid will have everything in place to stay in the race for 2038.
